i feel like a zombie vegetable

yesterday, i woke up with a monster headache, like a hangover, when i didn't even get any alcohol in me! every single sound seemed shriller, louder, and more headache-inducing to me. and my reflexes were slow. very slow. but still, i had to be back at the hotel by 8. i got there, how, i don't know exactly, at 815 am. i tried to get to the elevators as quickly as possible, but the few feet between the glass doors and my intended destination seemed so far away. to make matters worse, when i got there, the security guy manning the elevators would not let me go up and insisted that, because i didn't have the keycard, i go to the front desk first. i tried to explain to him that the room was actually under my name, and that i had left the keycard in the room with the people who'd stayed overnight. but he insisted--not a good thing to do to a woman with a nasty headache. so i went back to the front desk and related my story. when they found out that the room was indeed under my name, they directed me to the elevators, apologizing profusely. the same security guy did the same, and finally helped me with the elevator. i really don't mind them doing their job. but their timing relative to my headache was just terrible.

finally, when i got to the room, i found that my officemates were still out. like a TKO. so i hung around the room, gathering stuff that we had left from the night before, and resting my back. finally, i called the nurse to get some mefenamic acid. she promptly came over with a great 500mg dose. God bless her! and within 20 mins., i was back to my usual perky self. considering that i had little sleep and my back still hurt, of course.
sonee, mems, and i went up to the pacific lounge for a wonderful breakfast buffet. I LOVE THEIR BREAKFAST!!! there's a cereal station, waffle station, fresh fruits station, fried eggs station, bread station, juice bar, dessert station, sushi bar, leg of ham station (with condiments and stuff), soup station, + the main courses. i had their great thai rice, breakfast sausage, rolls, crispy bacon (and i'm not even a bacon eater!), ham, skewered veggies, sushi, french toast, danish pastries, cakes, hot tea, mango juice. it didn't hurt that the view was amazing! and the day was turning out to be, weather-wise, pleasant.

then, it was time to go. but when we got back to the room, where the 2 guys had managed to wake up (finally!), i got a call from my friend, laddie. so i went down to have coffee with her. and i got this cool bunny, as part of the drink-of-the-month i had the night before. i loved the coffee, the bunny, and the conversation.

we finally checked out of the hotel and proceeded to the office. back to the salt mines!:)
