sleepless in the office

monday was a VERY long day. for the first time, i found myself spending the night working at the office on a project that the client needed first thing tuesday. and, despite some irreponsible person not showing up, we finished. and i trudged home the next day, bright and early, at 530 am. with no sleep. whatsoever. well--except if you count the five minutes when i was hunched over my desk. otherwise, it was work, work, work! in my professional career, the longest i've ever gone without sleep over a project was til 11 pm when we were editing, or 2 am when shoots would take so long to wrap up. and after that, my warm bed would welcome me and envelope me in its arms. but this time, i was lightheaded, woozy, disoriented, and couldn't get out of darn galleria to get home! i had to walk around, under, and up before i got to EDSA to ride a bus. i slept fitfully in the jeepney, and then bounced around in the tricycle. finally, i got home and, like a zombie, changed clothes, and jumped into bed. i woke up to the sound of rain outside my window. oh, how i love the rain. and when i checked my watch, it was 130 pm. no way was i trudging back to the office. i had lunch, lazed around, then fell asleep again. sleep good. sleep very good.
