vincent van gogh is truly a wonderful artist. i remember a few years ago, i did a report for my MA class where i researched influences of vincent van gogh on different art forms and media, specifically starry night.

you all know the lovely song, of course. but there's also a poem, a few movies (some worse than others), especially a vignette in akira kurosawa's dreams. and there are a lot more. i loved doing that report because i had and still have a passion for the artist. i remember spending hours in the UP main lib's humanities dept poring over art books, and always being drawn to his "potato eaters":
