meeting a star

i've met many stars and star-wannabes before. part of my job since... well, since even before i graduated from college.
anyway, i'm not a fan of sarah geronimo, but i don't hate her either. it's just that i haven't been following local showbiz for some time now. the newest stars, i've never even heard of before. and i have no retention for new info about them. getting old, i guess.
anyway, my friend, cecilia (see my entry on Corregidor), who's about to become the next biggest DJ (yeah!!!) invited me to drop by their radio station yesterday afternoon because sarah was dropping by. and since it was on my way home anyway, so i dropped by.
one of our friends is a huge fan of sarah; and i have to say, the few times i've seen her, usually on star in a million, i have been impressed by her voice. so that common friend, who couldn't make it, sent over her CD so sarah could sign it.
so there i was, at 6pm, hanging out with my friend and relaxing at the radio booth. i just had to get away from the stress of work early yesterday. still hadn't fully recovered from the fatigue of the shoot. and its aftermath.

so i had my digicam with me (because it is truly the best buy of recent history for a shutterbug like me), and my friend asked me to get ready to take photos of sarah. when she finally came, i was taken aback because she wasn't all made up in fashionista duds like most teenagers today. she was in a simple shirt and jeans, wearing high heels, her long hair in a ponytail, and she wasn't wearing any makeup. refreshing in this day and age when 13 year-old girls can't leave home unless they're all dolled up, or some 15 year-olds who already have to worry about adult responsibilities.

i found out she was just 16 yrs. old, and she laughed, smiled, and talked with some people around the office in such an easygoing manner. well, thank goodness she's not a star!

after autograph and picture-taking duties, she did the on-air interview, then left for another station next door.
oh, i have to confess, i think her "partner" mark bautista is cute. he's talented and doesn't seem to be mayabang. so i'll take this encounter as a sign that i'm to meet mark soon... hehe!
