a bit of history first-hand
we went to mass on sunday at the cathedral.

after mass, we went to the arzobispado, just beside the church. we talked to the policeman guarding the place, and asked what there was to see inside, if any. while we were asking him about the bishop, the man came down the stairs and we met him! he was a really nice, elderly man who welcomed us, on his way to say mass. we liked him immediately. imagine, meeting the bishop of nueva segovia! what a blessing! after he left, we took pictures inside.

we started on our main objective: to visit all the key places in and around vigan in one day. we went to the house of fr. burgos. i have some recollection of the place from my last visit. and sadly, it's not very well maintained--i felt the P10 entrance fee really was measly. yet, still rich in authenticity and very educational. i even got some juice on the crisologo slaying. (for those who don't know, the former cong. floro, who's the dad of bingbong, was shot to death in the church while he was hearing mass. the killer was never brought to justice. surprised? i think not.)

we stopped by this small church in the center of town--where there's mostly just a mass of tricycles--before proceeding to the crisologo museum.
