nature-tripping sunday

after Mass at Sta. Catalina, just a few meters from the house, i walked to the nearby maryknoll ecological sanctuary. it was meters upon meters of foliage--an expanse of steps and flora and fauna. there were a lot of butterflies, hovering about. i like walking between bamboo, feeling as if i was in a forest and at any turn would come to a beautiful clearing--and at one point, i did!

there were also interesting displays. one area had symbols of different religions. another, traced the "birth of the earth", complete with a replica of the tabon cave! all around were benches, where people could come to have a picnic.
i trekked as if i were making my way up a mountain, but hardly felt tired, because the atmosphere was just so soothing. it's a testament to God's wonderful world.

i passed by SM later in the afternoon, and discovered these giant sunflowers. well over 6 feet tall, with flowers as huge as plates!
