super sunday
i had been craving for spanish food for 2 whole weeks...haven't managed to find an honest-to-goodness espaƱol resto up here yet. i told my family about my insatiable craving, and they promptly phoned around metro manila to get info. it was down to dulcinea and guernica's. but since we wanted to do a sunday brunch, and guernica's was not yet open at that time, we decided on dulcinea.
it proved to be a wise decision. what a great meal we had! i had been craving my favorite callos and lengua. my dad let me order lengua for him, and i ordered callos, then just picked off his food. what are dads for? my sister had her usual-spanish-fare: salpicao. and after much consideration, my mom chose the blue marlin ala pobre.

the food was not the only one that satiated us, but the wonderful kuwentuhan. we caught up on each other's lives, consulted each other on decisions, my mom loves cooking for us, but i know it was a welcome respite for her to not think about the dishes or how we're enjoying our food, but enjoy her food as well. i'm happy i was able to give that to her. and now, i'm satisfied...until my next paella craving!
