like getting on a bike
yesterday was my first big magazine fashion shoot in over a year. i mean, the first in a long time that i coordinated and put together on my own. i chose the production crew and handled the concerns for the models, etc.
it was held at the summit studio. it was my first time to shoot there, not my first time to see it, but my first time to use it.
the experience was like riding a bike. i didn't miss a heartbeat. digressing, from the booking of the crew to the fixing of the venue and other logistics, it was relatively smooth-sailing. some people were available, for others, we had to use backup. the shoot, itself, proceeded well. i had to do my usual song-and-dance with making chika the models and the crew--i'm more comfortable talking to the crew, of course--while still making sure that we were on track, getting work done. there were a few snags, like one of our models arriving VERY late. but over-all, we were all happy with the outcome. maybe it's my previous experience, or the fact that i know i'll be at it just a week more, but it lacked any of the major stress that accompanied most of my previous shoots.
but even if i went home happy with the outcome at 11 pm, one thing i learned: this is not a bike i want to get on again.:)
