the beauty of spontaneity

i slept in the entire weekend. wow, sleep is the BEST. as long as you wake up eventually, of course. i love sleeping. thank God i'm not insomniac! i can pretty much fall into a deep sleep most nights. and days, when, like the past week, i've been exhausted for a couple of days.
i love my bed because it's this queen size, mahogany, 4-poster with an option to get a canopy. of course, i don't have one.:p my walls have just been painted a cool shade of purple--mixed by my ultra-talented friend, gwyn guanzon. funny story: it was leftover paint from his apartment wall, that i bugged him to give to me. i had to lug the paint can from his condo in wack-wack to the gate of the village--so worth it!
back to the weekend. i only went out of the house for 2 occasions: to go to greenbelt with my friend cecilia, and to mass (palm sunday always feel so foreboding) with the family.
cecilia and i walked around the new SM, glorietta, and greenbelt. and man, were there a lott of people! she bought new shoes, i got a great book on sale at powerbooks live.

shaping up to be a really great book!

then, we had dinner at the new rai rai ken at gilligan's. arigato gozaimasu!:D
we were supposed to catch the free staging of excerpts of "mamma mia" at GB, but i thought of passing by oakwood first. my tita, who i haven't seen in 20 yrs., is in town to recruit nurses for the hospital in california where she works. she's been here since wednesday, but has been working non-stop... we haven't even been able to talk on the phone. so we decided to pass by oakwood, just in case she was in her room. as it turns out, she was. so we went up to her room. i haven't been to oakwood since the "mutiny". i have to say, their service is so efficient! all the service staff know where you're headed, and there are elevators immediately available for you. hmm... a bit creepy too, if you think about it though.
so we went up to tita estelita's room, and when she opened the door, i wasn't sure it was her. i remembered her as being taller. of course, that's probably because i was 7 yrs. old when i saw her last.
we went inside and chatted with her for a whole hour. it was really fun catching up about her, her family, and all my other relatives in the States.
when we left the room, i had, of course, an armful of pasalubong (lotion, chocolates, towels, coffee). i apologized to cecilia for the delay. but thankfully, she enjoyed my tita's kwentos. i did too. when we got to GB, it was already egress, so we just sat in SBC to chat.
i have to say, i couldn't have planned a better outing.
