"simply the best"

friday night, abi and i went to ADB to watch a benefit concert entitled "simply the best". it was a funny, entertaining, hilarious show. as it turns out, it's an annual show with employees of ADB, who perform for free, and they ask pledges for charity from members of the audience.

our favorite was the samurai geisha samba. the group was composed of one "samurai" and several "geisha" dancing to a japanese song with a samba beat. their costumes were so colorful and shiny, and their dance steps were straight out of a jap TV variety show.

a performance we awaited was "footloose" by, as abi put it, a steve martin lookalike who couldn't quite dance. true enough, he didn't even do the footloose dance step once!

over-all, "love is all we need" was a great finale for the concert...especially since we were also singing that song throughout the day.
