rain sparkles!

it's been raining nonstop for the last week. not entirely nonstop, it takes a break in the middle of the day, for an hour or so, then resumes all through the night.
last night, when i got near the house, i observed the really nice way the light hit the landscape, so i tried to take a pic with my digicam in the midst of the rainstorm. and you know what's amazing? the rain sparkled! like tiny bits of diamonds suspended from the sky by a thread. like a netful of miniscule fireflies. it sparkles! i was so amazed, i kept clicking away several times. in the middle of the rain.
i know rain is composed of water, and water reflects light, etc. but it was just so beautiful...poetic... like one of those slo-mo scenes from "the matrix". amazing...
