late to bed, early to rise

my family finally met up with tita estelita the night before she had to go back to the states. of course, our relatives asked us to bring bags of pasalubong for her to take back (5 bags--excluding our own 2!) home. we met up with her at oakwood, then proceeded to kaya for dinner (anyong hoseyo!).

we had bulgogi, tempura, seafood ramen, jap chae. my sister, who's a recent fan of "full house" insisted on tasting the jap chae coz apparently that's what song hye kyo eats in the series. we were all super-full by the end of the meal.

we got home by 11 pm. i had a very restful sleep, but was woken from my slumber at 5:45 am because we had to get ready for my sister's graduation. at last, she's bidding college goodbye. (yikes, real world! sooo nervous!) we had to be at the PICC by 7 am. when we got there, there was already a long line of graduates, parents, and guests. the programme, thankfully, started on time (at 8:30 am). it proceeded well, i even liked the speech made by 1 of the administrators. i thought it was nice that, going with the "filipiniana" motif, the commencement exercises were delivered in filipino (not easy, considering terms like "actuarial science", "chemistry", and "biology"). i didn't really feel emotional til the very end, when most of the graduates went onstage to get their pictures taken with their respective friends, and i just had a flash of how idealistic and optimistic i was around that age. i still try to keep it up, but try as i might, i can't deny the world has bogged me down and hit me more than a few times with some harsh doses of reality.
