love-ly movies

when there's a long break like this, i like to watch my favorite love stories.some may say they're formulaic, sappy, but i don't care! they serve the same purpose as the thin sweet dreams and love stories i re-read from time to time: to take my brain on a recreational ride.
i have copies all in VHS, which is why i'm never letting go of my VCR, come what may!

i love bill pullman (i do! i do!) in this movie because he shows his dapper, debonair side, as opposed to being "the president" (independence day) or "the dad" ("casper") or "the psycho" ("mr. perfect"). and who can hate sandra?

brendan fraser is so charming in this movie!!! watch it if you want to forget "george of the jungle" or "dudley do-right" or "monkeybone". i loved ricki lake even when she was overweight and our "poster girl"!

christian slater is such a dream here! and i've loved mary stuart masterson since "some kind of wonderful" (which i also have on VHS).

(the guys: not too hot though)

what do all these movies have in common? i can actually relate to them and pretend, for a while, that the stories can come true.
